Terry Gilmore

Senior trainer and CEO

With over 40 years’ experience working within the yachting and private sector, Terry began his career at the age of 20, mastering his skills to become a Chief Steward/PA by the age of twenty-six. He was extensively trained in St Moritz during the 70’s by Madame Pedrini, who was at that time privately responsible for the Shah of Persia’s family residence in Switzerland.

Employed by important clients of differing nationalities in accordance with their requirements and requests, Terry’s wide knowledge and experience is second to none. He is extremely professional, and well equipped to train students to the necessary standard required within this industry.

Lucy

Lucy Hogan – Marketing & Training consultant

Lucy spent many years in Australia working at Vicsail importing Beneteau, Lagoon Catamarans and Nautor’s Swan yachts. While working at Vicsail, she spent (my) her time on the dock carrying out detailing, rigging, varnishing, gel coat repairs and helping out with deliveries and general maintenance throughout Australia. Lucy would also take clients out sailing on a weekly basis and carry out test sails and calibrations on the boats. Her roles also included organizing boat shows, regattas and test sails of new models Australia-wide as well as throughout Europe. She spent the last four years at Vicsail specialising in marketing and advertising, including work for magazines such as Boat International, Ocean magazine and Yachting World.

Kim-Woodey-Stuart-Pearce-S05

Kim – Interior

Kim Woodey has over nine years’ experience working on board large motor yachts, cruising both well-known and far-flung regions of the world.

Having worked predominantly as Chief Stewardess and Purser on both private and charter vessels, she has been involved in all aspects of the daily running of the vessels, as well as, refit and new build projects.

She knows first-hand the challenges her students may face. Drawing on her previous experience as a teacher, Kim is ideally suited to provide a relaxed yet focused environment helping her students gain an in-depth understanding of the highest levels of service, housekeeping and organisation.

Vanessa Hodgson – Interior

Following University, Vanessa, managed a Solent-based charter company for three years, assisting them in the development of their corporate business, facilitating team-building and demonstrating strong leadership skills. She went on to successfully work as deck/stew progressing to chief stewardess, a role she held for over seven years. Vanessa eventually formed a professional crew recruitment and yacht services company ashore in England, with continuing success. With her expert knowledge of the yachting industry Vanessa is a valuable member of our Interior training team.

Barney Levy

Barney Levy – Bar & Mixology

With 7 years of cocktail making experience, Barney is an expert mixologist that will also put on a show for you while preparing your drinks. After spending 2 years studying hospitality service, he perfected his skills in a cocktail bar in Cannes and after that was often hired by various companies and private events. Now he enjoys testing out different ingredients and playing with them to get new cocktail flavors and will even go so far as to make you a cocktail out of ginger beer.

James Dicksbw

James Dicks – Bar & Mixology

James is a self-taught gin expert offering gin tasting experiences, cocktail making classes and a mobile bar service for events, called The Caravan Concept. Originally from Liverpool, where the gin industry was booming, James decided to bring a bit of that magic to the South of France. Now his gin bar is stocked with around 80 of the best gins from around the world, all there to make you have the best gin experience possible. James’ absolute favourite one is the Earl Grey Tea Gin and his go-to cocktail is a modified version of Tom Collins, which he will definitely want you to try.
